A dominant first half display by Molesey helped the club claim a sixth consecutive league victory with a 4-1 win at Sandhurst Town.

On a cold day and heavy pitch the football served up by the Moles in the first half was some of their finest of the season as they raced into a 3-0 interval lead. However, a lethargic second half showing in which they gave the ball away far too often provided one or two hairy moments - particularly after Sandhurst pulled a goal back with 15 minutes remaining, however, a first senior goal for Joseph Grant sealed the win.

The Moles were dominant from the word go against a nervous Fizzers defence, and after Dariush Heravi had volleyed over when well-placed, James McShane wriggled free of two challenges on the right and his ball across the 6 yard box was put on a plate for Manny Quarshie to smash home his 20th goal of the season.

Soon afterwards it was two. Sandhurst keeper Matt Watson beat Quarshie to Billy Pamment's long ball, however, made a mess of his clearance, with the ball landing at the feet of Lewis Ackerman 30 yards from goal. With Watson in no mans land, Ackerman bought himself half a yard of space from the attention of Chris Fermie before chipping the ball with his weaker left foot over Watson and the back-peddling Jasper Owen for a goal of the season contender.

Ackerman's second was equally impressive, as a quick free-kick and interchange between Luke Elliott and Louis Taylor sent Marion Rodney scampering away down the left. His pull-back picked out Quarshie, and after his effort was blocked the ball fell invitingly to Ackerman ten yards from goal to expertly curl the ball beyond Watson.

At this stage it looked like the Moles could score as many as they desired, but after one or two other chances went begging they had to be content with their three goal advantage at half-time.

To Sandhurst's immense credit, they were a different side in the second half, with Wester Young saving well from Matt Day early on, however, despite less fluidity to the Moles' play they still had plenty of chances to add to the scoreline, with Pamment going close and Quarshie and McShane both having efforts well saved.

It was Day who broke the Moles resistance for the first time in over 400 hours of football, smartly cutting in before curling the ball beyond Young. The goal seemed little more than a consolation, however, hearts were in mouths a few minutes later when the Fizzers hit the woodwork twice within twenty seconds, firstly Sam Knowle's fierce drive coming back of the upright, then Mark Watkins’ curling cross forced Young to tip the ball onto the bar before the ball was hacked to safety.

Sandhurst's gung-ho approach left gaps at the back, and after McShane ran unopposed from halfway but saw his shot tipped round the post it was left to substitute Grant to complete the scoring, smartly rounding Watson before finishing from a tight angle.
