Molesey 5-0 Erith Town
The Reserves put in one of their best performances of the season in a completely dominant display against their visitors.
With injuries to Captain Eric Nwaogwugwu and Alfie Smith, the midfield consisted of Ayo Majekodunmi, Jordan Smith and Darnell MacDonald who returned after missing last week due to work. The midfield completely bossed the game from start to finish with Ayo Majekodunmi setting the tempo with an energetic display.
Matt David got the opening goal after 10 mins when a ball in the box by Ezra Nelson was spilled by the keeper for the young Defender to slam home his fifth goal of the season from close range.
Molesey's lead was doubled two minutes later when a run and brilliant reverse pass from Vice-Captain Stephen Mwinie was finished with aplomb by Emmanuel Quarshie for his third in his last 3 games.
The third goal was an own goal from the beleaguered Erith Town Centre half when a through ball from Jack Bishop to Jordan Smith saw his shot cannon of the defender into the goal after 31 minutes.
With the game seemingly over as a contest, Emmanuel Quarshie added his second of the game in the 36th minute with a powerful header from a Jack Bishop corner.
The second half was an exercise in ball retention and ensuring Jacob Byerley got the clean sheet his performances deserves. The home side had the majority of possession but also worked extremely hard to win the ball back when the away side had it.
Molesey continued creating opportunities with Jack Bishop hitting the bar after another good bit of play between Lukas Gereltauskas and Emmanuel Quarshie who crossed the ball into the box.
In the 70th minute, Arun Astley replaced the hard working Ezra Nelson. Molesey were awarded a penalty in the 75th minute which was despatched by Captain Stephen Mwinie to cap a great performance from himself.
Arash Muhammadi then replaced Jack Bishop in the 75th minute with Molesey switching to the diamond from the 4:3:3 formation to maintain the clean sheet and seal a comprehensive victory, placing them level on points with Tooting and Mitcham United at the top of the table.
Next week the Reserves are away to Horley Town in the League.
